I graduated from Elon University in Elon, North Carolina in 2007 with a degree in Religious Studies.  I then enrolled at Candler School of Theology at Emory University where I graduated with a Master of Divinity in 2010.

I was raised a United Methodist, a church I loved for many reasons and a church I left for many reasons.  I found the United Church of Christ when I started at Elon. The church across the parking lot from my freshman dorm was Elon Community Church, the church where my ordination would take place seven years later.  While at Elon, I discovered a denomination that celebrated its deep theological and denominational roots while lifting up the beauty of our inherent diversity as children of God.

Although a member of the United Church of Christ, I continued to work at Loganville First United Methodist Church, first as their Music Director and then as their Pastor of Worship and Community. My tasks ran the gamut from  rehearsing the choir to planning worship to cooking Wednesday Night Suppers for up to 120 to creating and updating the church website.

During my time at Loganville First, I became interested in both visual elements of worship and the ways churches can use social media to reach their communities. These interests led to consulting churches on social media, web, and worship strategy during my time at Loganville First–work which continues today.
