Week 2
I took this shot this week of how my cat, Naomi, greets me every day when I arrive home from work. My condo in Atlanta has floor to ceiling windows–perfect for cats who are always curious about what’s going on outside but, if they’re honest, are fairly content to be curious from the inside. The charming little home I live in up here has the windows most homes have–up 3 feet or so from the floor. So, most days, I stop in for lunch to find my sweet kitty sitting in the kitchen window watching birds, traffic, and just generally whatever outside. One of my favorite moments of the day is seeing her watch me pull in the drive then meet me at the door. For such a tiny animal, she sure is A LOT of company!
Here in the Elon area we have had a case of the dreaded ice today with just about everything canceled. Knowing the prediction I got in supplies and my crock pot is now full of a wondrous vegetable soup made with a beef stock base. The aroma has tantalized me all afternoon. And there is plenty for freezing and having during February cold.
Perhaps you will create some soup for easy meals. The warmth of soup stays with you even if your house is cool.
Looking forward to spring.
